Dungeon Intro

Once you reach 500 trophies you will unlock Dungeons which is the main focus of the game. Dungeons are played solo or with two players that work together. Any experience collected is shared. You will want to kill as many monsters as you can to level up but leave yourself enough time to kill the boss at the end of the Dungeon. One strategy can be if one player is stronger than the other they can begin to damage the boss while the other player continues to farm experience to level you both up. Also, depending on the Dungeon, if your partner is a lot higher level than you and you are having trouble even farming for experience you can run around and pull as many monsters as you can to your partner for them to kill.

The first few Dungeons you unlock have 10 levels. You can only use each Hunter once and each level has different modifiers. This means you will need 10 different Hunters unlocked to be able to reach level 10 in the Dungeon. Though, you won't be able to make it past the first few levels at first. The modifiers can range from lower experience rates, increased monster health, no healpad, or no healing at all. The no heal levels are typically the most difficult. This will prevent the effects of Regen or Life Steal abilities.

There are a few Hunters that are exceptions that can heal on no heal levels. They are:
  • Angel - Awakened Ability
  • Druid - Awakened Ability
  • Mender - Regular Ability (Healing Circle)
  • Stormstrider - Water Totem
There are also several other Hunters that have abilities that can help your partner even if you are struggling in the Dungeon:
  • Frozen Queen - Slows enemies
  • Mad Doctor - Disease (Increases Damage taken)
  • Protector - Slows enemies
  • The Ripper - Applies Weakness (Increases Damage taken and Decreases Damage output)
  • Snowman - Slows enemies
  • Void Knight - Applies Weakness (Increases Damage taken and Decreases Damage output)
  • Plague Rat - Disease (Increases Damage taken)
  • Abyssorb - Terror (Prevents enemies from attacking and increases the Damage taken)
  • Stormstrider - Earth Totem (Reduces incoming damage and grants damage reflection)

This big change is Dungeons is that there is Dungeon gear. At first you will have a Gear Score (GS) of 0.

Gear Score 0

Once you start equipping items your Gear Score will increase. The more items you have, the higher rarity, and the item levels/modifiers will increase your Gear Score.

Gear Score 19

These items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness and your Gear Score. You can see in the images below a level one item as well as well as the same item ready to upgrade. The current Gear Score of the item will be displayed in the top left of the window. The stats the item gives are displayed near the bottom. When you click the Upgrade button you get a preview for the new stats before you confirm the upgrade. The higher you upgrade your items the more gems it will cost to upgrade. At first, it will only take one time of gem to upgrade your items. For example, Dragon Gems for Dragon Items. As you increase your Gear Score and unlock better Dungeons and gear it will begin to cost multiple gem types and higher quantities.

As your unlock harder Dungeons your original gear will become outdated fairly quickly. At first you will just want to level up your gear to increase your Gear Score enough to unlock the next Dungeon. You will want to focus on leveling up Rare or Epic gear as this will be the best way to increase your Gear Score and progress through first few Dungeons. The goal is to reach 1,200 Gear Score to unlock maze where you will finally be able to find some permanent gear upgrades.

You can use the below spreadsheet to calculate the required gear quality (Common vs Rare) and levels to reach your desired Gear Score. Note: This was not created by me. It was created another content creator in the Hunt Royale community.
