Champion's Quest
Champion's Quest is a mode that unlocks once you have 1,500 trophies. There are currently 10 difficulties to work your way through and the rewards are a lot better than
Undeadgrounds. The set can be useful in other modes and it isn't as difficult to grind for the legendary and mythic pieces. You will be able to make it through the first
several difficulties using your regular set as you build it out but once you get about halfway through the difficulties you will be able to grind for the legendary set.
Once you've completed this set you will have a lot easier time pushing the next few levels and can begin the grind for the mythic set. Once you get later into Champion's
Quest you will just be using the same Power Stones you use in your Chaos Dungeon set so you get a lot of use out of these gems. You will just have to level up an earth
stone as well which isn't nearly as difficult as getting the rotten stones in Undeadgrounds.
The way this mode works is that each difficulty level has a certain Hunters that must be used to beat it. Once you beat the difficulty for the first time you will get
a larger reward of Champion's Coins, Trophies, gold, a piece of Champion's Quest Gear, as well as an Earth Power stone. Once you've completed a difficulty you can
continue to play it to collect Champion's Coins, Earth Power Stones, and Champion's Quest Gear. When you first open Champion's Quest you will be able to see quite
a bit of information. The important things to note are your boosters are located in the top left and slightly below that is the shop. To the right of the banner is
an "i" that contains further information about the mode. To change the difficulty you will click on the "Difficulty" button and it will show each one that you have
unlocked. Clicking on the stars on the right side of the difficulty selection list will show the Score Requirement to get each level of stars which is important to
maximize your rewards.
When selecting your difficulty you can also click the "Rewards" button in the bottom left. This will show you the rewards for repeating a difficulty or the rewards for
clearing it the first time if you haven't yet. When repeating a difficulty it will show the amount of Champion's Coins, chance for an item, and
chance for a Power Stone and the level it will be if you do get one. It is important to note that you will only have the chance to get the Power Stones if you get 3 stars.
Using a Champion's Quest Booster will give you 10x the rewards. This means 10x the coins, as well as a 100% chance for an item and 100% chance for a Power Stone on the
higher difficulties. So make sure you take advantage of these boosters to get the best rewards. You score will be affected by how quickly you can kill the boss as well as
how many lives you have. You will want to defeat the boss as quickly as you can but make sure to avoid losing a life. If you do you will take a large hit to your score and
make it almost impossible to get three stars unless you are replaying a very easy difficulty. Once you are ready to play click the "Play" button and it will give you an
option to go ahead with your current gear or chance your gear set. As you see in the below image it gives you a warning if your Gear Score is too high. The only reason to
keep your gear score below the max gear score is if you want to compete on the leaderboards. If you are having trouble on a floor just boost your gear score as high as you
can and you will still get the rewards. Your score will just not be tracked for leaderboard purposes. Finally, once you confirm your gear you will be prompted with the
Hunters available to play on the current difficulty level as well as the game and boss modifiers.
Gameplay
Now, for the gameplay. When you start your Hunter will spawn in the bottom left corner of the map. As you run out you will see a Heart. You will need this to cure poison
if you get hit by the boss. There is only one heart so you will have to make sure to save it in case you get enough poison stacks on you that you can't heal through. As you
make your way to the middle of the map you will see the boss, the Leshy. At first you will want to run around the perimeter to pull all of the monsters you can. Kill this
first batch for experience to get your first few levels. You'll then want to focus on attacking the boss and moving out from the middle area to attack some monsters as
they spawn to get a few additional levels. Once you clear the first segment of the boss's health bar there will be three trees to burn. One to the West, one to the North,
and one to the East. All you will have to do is stand in them until they fill up, dodging the boss's attacks as you wait. After I burn the three trees I like to go to the
Southern part of the map as there are usually a few monsters there for extra experience. You'll then want to get back on the boss for the next segment of its health bar.
Similar to the previous phase just focus on attacking the boss occasionally popping out to kill a few monsters around the perimeter as they spawn. Once you complete this the
next phase will spawn 3 mini bosses. One to the North West, one to the North East, and one to the South East. These have the exact same abilities as the main Leshy. Focus
on taking these down then you will be able to go back to the boss and focus on killing it to get your rewards.
Boss Attacks
The boss has a few different attack patterns that you will have to dodge. When you are at range the Leshy will use either an attack that has many small circles or fewer large
circles. The attack with many small circles will cause trees to erupt from the ground. If you get hit you will take damage and be poisoned. The other attack that has the
fewer large circles will be one of two attacks. One will be a poison field that will give you more poison stacks the longer you stand in it. The other will just cause
damage over time. If you get into melee with the Leshy it will no longer use its ranged attacks. It will use a normal melee on you. At first you won't be able to survive
this but once you get a few levels you should be able to out heal the damage as long as you have a purple Power Stone, it will be the poison that kills you. Also, when you
are in melee it will use a cone AoE attack that will cause you to be poisoned. This can easily be avoided by just staying in melee with the Leshy and stepping to the side
where the cone is most narrow. Once you have burnt the trees and reached the second segment on the boss's health bar it can use a second AoE attack that is a circle all
around the boss. This one will be more difficulty to avoid. Especially on higher difficulties where the radius gets bigger. This is why it is important to have move speed in
your setup to help avoid these attacks.
Rewards
The rewards in this mode are Champion's Coins, Champion's Quest gear, and Earth Power Stones. The Champion's Coin will be used for opening boxes in the store, rerolling
stats on Champion's gear, and upgrading Earth Power Stones. You shouldn't have to spend any coins on opening boxes but you may want to when you are in the late game for the
chance at a mythic or more Earth Power stones for upgrades. The Champion's Quest gear will most likely be required in this mode to help you advance but with the introduction
of Titan Gear it won't be as useful outside this mode. The best use of Earth Power Stones at first is just to level up one at first as high as you can. This will be swapped
into your Chaos set instead of a Poison stone to help you clear these floors. Once you reach the end game you may want to be building some more high ranking Earth stones as
they can be used in Dark Forest runs.
Make sure to take advantage of the Champion's Quest Boosters. You can have three of these at once and you refill one booster every 4 hours. You can also get two each day
from the shop that can give you more than the base three. These boosters give you 10x the rewards. You can also use them for a Time Jump which instantly grants you rewards
from a floor but you only get the base rewards for the floor. There is no multiplier on the rewards. You are definitely better off using them for the 10x rewards but if you
don't like to run the mode or don't have time you should just spend them as you get them for the Time Jumps.
Champion's Quest Gear
Champion's Quest gear is actually some of the easier gear to farm. It shouldn't take you too long to complete your legendary set. Also, you can get quite a few Champion's
Quest coins to open a few Big Boxes to try your luck and you don't have to worry as much about sacrificing the currency like you do the Brains in Undeadgrounds that are
also used for upgrades. You may have a bit of trouble getting your first Mythic Pieces but once you are able to reliably beat the Insane floor you will get a decent amount
of Mythics, at least in my experience. The pieces do have a few bonuses, the main one being the increased damage to bosses. You will require a full set to unlock the bonus
but it does work across other modes. This used to be more useful before the implementation of Titan Gear but you may still get a bit of use out of it. The piece and set
bonuses are as follows:
- Common Set gives +25% Damage to Bosses, Each piece gives +1% Earth Damage
- Rare Set gives +50% damage to bosses, Each piece gives +2% Earth damage
- Epic Set gives +75% damage to bosses, Each piece gives +3% Earth damage
- Legendary Set gives +100% damage to bosses, Each piece gives +4% Earth damage
- Mythic Set gives +160% damage to bosses, Each piece gives +5% Earth damage

This will be the primary floor you grind on until you get your Legendary Champion's Quest Gear. On this floor you
will want two yellow for movement speed and just fill the rest with purple for experience in your defensive gear.
In offense you'll want one purple for life steal then fill the rest of the slots with one to two of each blue, pearl,
and earth depending on what you have available. The set I ran had a level 4 purple in my offensive gear but the rest
of the power stones were all level 3 or below. I even had some level 1 purples in my defensive gear. For the Hunter
choose whichever one is your highest level. The clear time with both Hunters are similar. As I mentioned you'll be on
this floor for a while. There isn't any reason to go to higher difficulties until you get your Legendary Champion's
Quest gear. The higher difficulties can drop better gear but are much more difficult and unreliable to 3 star which
is what you will need to get your gear drop and power stone drops. As you collect enough power stones you will slowly
want to start building into your Chaos Dungeon setup. It will be a lot different than your Abyssal power
stone setup so it is worth to start putting it together in your set for Champion's Quest.

Zeus, Thor |
You can complete this floor sooner but as I mentioned you'll most likely have a lot of trouble. If you just stay on Hard until you have your Legendary
Champion's Quest gear it will make this floor and the next few a lot easier. I choose to use Thor on this floor as he seems to be better for focusing on the
boss. I scaled back a lot on this floor. You'll see how powerful the CQ gear set is. I ran all level 4 gems except for a level 6 life steal in offense. This
gave me a gear score of 5320 which is actually lower than the gear score I used on the previous floor and I was still able to meet the required score. This
is a good point to focus on building out the power stones you will eventually use for Chaos Dungeon if you haven't already. In your defensive gear you
can put 2 yellow, 2 green, then fill the rest with purple. On offense you'll want two white, two blue, one purple, and your highest level earth stone instead.

Chaos |
Houndmaster, Bunny |
On this floor I like to use Houndmaster. Again, once you have your legendary CQ gear this should be a lot easier. I ran this with mostly level 4 and 5 power
stones. I did have a few higher level ones in my offensive gear but by this point in the game you should have a few higher level stones yourself. You'll just
want to keep building your previous set up for Chaos Maze. It won't overlap with your Abyssal set except for your offensive stones so you can reuse these.
You'll want 2 yellow, 2 green, and 5 purple in your defensive pieces. On offense the normal 2 pearl, 2 blue, 1 purple, and 1 earth for this mode.

Insane |
Carnivorous, Ancient One, Snowman, Necromancer |
There are a few good choices on this floor and I've beaten it with all the Hunters myself. I prefer to use Ancient One though. Improving Ancient One's
tentacles also works on the tentacles from your blue power stones so your tentacles will do a ton of damage. By this point you should have the majority of
these power stones at least level 6 from playing Chaos Maze. Once you are able to reliably clear this floor it will be your go to for farming Mythic Champion's
Quest gear. You'll farm here just swapping the Mythic pieces into your legendary CQ set until it is complete. You will be using all of your Chaos Dungeon
power stones except swapping out your green stone in offense for the earth stone.

Nightmare |
Torment, Phantom, Void Knight |
Before you attempt to get 3 stars on this floor I would recommend completing your Mythic set with drops from Insane difficulty. As soon as
I had completed my Mythic set I was able to get 3 stars right away. You can just swap your Chaos Power Stone setup into the Champion's
Quest gear swapping the green power stone out for an earth power stone. The higher the level of this Earth stone the better off you'll be.
When I made it here I had a level 7 Earth Power stone. If you've made it this far you know the strategy. The only thing to be aware of is
how quick the attacks come so you don't have much time to dodge. Especially when the Leshy uses the circle AoE attack that completely surrounds
it.
